The 'noni' name

In the Caribbean Noni is known as the "Pain Killer Tree", in South East Asia it is known as "Nhau". Other names used around Polynesia include "Nonu", "Nono" and, of course, "Noni".

Noni Knowledge - Noni History

Noni Juice de Tahiti been used for its natural health benefits for over 2,000 years. The word Noni is the generic name for the plant known scientifically by its botanical name: "Morinda Citrifolia". It is also known as the "Indian mulberry" and has many other names in the various tropical regions where it grows wild and free. In Malaysia it is known as "Mengkudu" and is used there for a variety of purposes too.

The history books tell us that early Polynesians recognised the value of Noni Juice and consumed it in times of famine and, during World War II, they taught soldiers based on their islands to eat the Noni fruit to sustain their strength. There are references to Noni being eaten by the people of Raratonga, Samoa, and Fiji, and Aborigines are also reputed to be fond of Noni too. It is also worth noting that there are references to the Noni fruit being eaten both raw and cooked and references to Noni seeds, Noni leaves, Noni bark, and Noni root all being eaten by the cognoscenti.

The Noni tree bears fruit 365 days of the year and this ebullient and vigorous energy bestows an abundance and vitality to the Noni fruit which is reflected in the Juice it yields.

There are records of Noni Juice having been used for thousands of years in both India and Polynesia and it is now gaining increasing recognition as a natural tonic with over 140 nutritionally active constituents identified, countless books and clinical reports now attesting to the efficacy of Noni.

Scientific Research on Noni and Health

Here are just a couple of exciting research projects on the therapeutic benefits of Noni juice. The first study was headed by Professor Steven Charles Gallant (left of picture) appear to prove scientifically what everyone in the Noni Industry has already known for years - Noni Juice is Good for you! Many people profess that Noni Juice contains a mystical alkaloid called xeronine or pro-xeronine but the active ingredients are in fact a selection of polysaccharides. As a world leading bio-chemist Steven didn't believe the xeronine theory when introduced to Noni as he had never heard of the substance before.

He began by studying the work of Dr. Eiichi Furusawa and Anne Hirazumi, of the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Hawaii, who recently performed a series of studies concerning the potential health benefits of Noni Juice. In three successive studies (in vitro or in vivo with mice), the researchers showed that Noni Juice enhances the immune system and attacks tumour cells. The active portion of Noni (the ethanol-insoluble fraction) contains gum arabic heteropolysaccharide, which is composed mainly of the sugars glucuronic acid, galactose, arabinose, and rhamnose.

100% Pure Noni Fruit Juice Dr. Furusawa treated tumour-bearing mice with a combination of these Noni polysaccharides and conventional chemotherapeutic agents and found that Noni polysaccharides had a significantly beneficial effect. He concluded, "…the possibility of combining [the active component of Noni] with sub-optimal doses of chemotherapy may not only reduce the toxic side effects of chemotherapy by lowering its dose, but may improve the curative property."

Professor Steven Gallant was so excited by these findings, following his own research into cellular rejuvenation and cancer treatment, he set about the first stages of his own research project into the beneficial effects of Noni Juice and we are now very proud to unveil, for the very first time, two of the graphs from his White Paper below.

Before starting trials with mice he began his experiments with fruit flies, as the special SAMP mice he uses have an average life expectancy of 12 months. Fruit flies are ideal for initial testing of this type as they react very similarly to animals and humans with regard to cellular rejuvenation and tumour development yet have a relatively short life expectancy - except, that is, when their diet is supplemented with our Premium Noni Juice as you will see!

Tahiti Products Premium Noni Juice - 2 ml in 120 ml supplementation to food

As you can see from the graph above, the flies given a diet supplemented with our Premium Noni Juice greatly out lived the control sample group. You can also see from the Graph below that their mobility throughout their life was also greatly improved.

Our sincere thanks also go to Ladislav Topínka for all his work on this research project, without whom none of this would have been possible. Ladislav says that in all his years of research, working with fruit flies, he has never seen any substance produce such brilliant and outstanding results before and is now regularly drinking our Premium Noni Juice himself.
